FAQ. Effect of hardware or software versions on equipment polling
Due to the fact that different hardware (HW) versions of the devices may differ in circuitry and component composition, existing polling methods may not work correctly or may not work at all on other hardware versions. We do not keep track of new hardware versions of various equipment and cannot anticipate the changes made to the hardware, so we rely entirely on you.
If you have purchased a model with a new hardware version and it does not work, although the model name is exactly the same as in the hardware database, please create a ticket via the ticket system, specifying the model, hardware version number and as much information as possible: that there was/was no problem with the previous hardware version, what is the difference between the hardware version used previously, if there was such experience. If there is any information about changes in the hardware or in the way information is captured from the device, attach all available files. All this will speed up investigation and development of a new way of interacting with this hardware.
A similar situation can occur with different firmware versions (FW). But in this case it often happens that some particular firmware version has errors and incorrectly responds to requests to the hardware, or incorrectly executes other commands. Obviously, we do not create separate ways of interaction for firmware with errors. In this case, the developers of the firmware are responsible for fixing the bugs and you should contact the vendor's technical support for assistance.
It may happen that a new firmware deliberately changes the way it interacts, or the data set, the way it is received. Normally vendors will announce these changes. This is not a firmware error and will not be "fixed" at a later date. If there is such information from the vendor, we can also develop a new way of interaction with equipment of another firmware version, if the vendor guarantees that this change is a permanent one.
The following is a list of known versions of hardware firmware that contain bugs that have been fixed in new firmware versions and there is no a separate way of interacting with them in USERSIDE. If your device has such firmware, your only option is to update the firmware to one in which the problem has been fixed.
