Switch card
The switch card contains the maximum functionality for monitoring and managing switches in the network. The left part displays the switch image (if it is bound to the equipment base), technical and registration information, notes, and configures access to the switch via SNMP and Telnet.
Also on the left side you can ping the equipment in real time and capture SNMP registration information from the switch. Information on the switch interaction with the usm_peleng module and data on switching the switch on in SMS/E-mail informing is displayed separately.
For managed switch ports, you can enable customer autoswitching. This means that when a MAC address is found on a port and it is known to the ERP "UserSide", then the customer/equipment owning that MAC address will be assigned to the port. In case there will be more than one MAC address on the port, then auto-assignment will be disabled.
In the card of the selected switch in the "edit" mode, it is possible to correct various information, configure "Informing about inactivity" and select the required "Parameter control" profile.
When configuring interfaces/stacking, you can view the "Interface list". Also manually mark the necessary interfaces to be displayed, or copy from the list of existing devices. And apply only for this device or all devices of this model.
In "Parameters of access to the equipment", you must specify SNMP, Telnet access parameters and specify the type for "FDB polling".
You can get an ARP-table from the switch via SNMP
Or via SNMP/Telnet to get the FDB-table. For all customers with known MAC-addresses, the activity date on the network will be updated.
This function is one of the possibilities |
A cable tester has been added for some models. You can view information for all ports at once or for a specific port.
If necessary, you can perform a "hot change" of the switch. In this case, all attached ports from the installed switch will be moved to the new switch and the existing switch will be released. To perform a change - the new switch must be in the account of any staff member.
The right side of the card displays all port information:
- port number
- port description
- activity status of the assigned customer/equipment
- information on who/what the port is assigned to
- MAC-addresses on this port
- port status (active)
- link status (up/down)
- traffic volume on the port and actual speed.
Real-time data on traffic, speed on the port, port and link operation status is captured and updated.
Any port can be assigned to a customer or equipment. For more details see: commutation of objects
You can enable/disable ports and reboot the switch (some models) via SNMP directly from the switch card.
You can specify which ports are UPLINK or DOWNLINK ports for the switch. Firstly, such ports will be impossible to disconnect from the switch card, and secondly (with the corresponding option) - no information about MAC-addresses will be taken from such ports.
If we are dealing with a stackable switch, we can configure the stack in the card and specify the correspondence of port numbers to interface numbers. This will allow you to quickly and correctly get information on ports.
The list of MAC-addresses by ports is stored permanently and displayed in a tabular report. The date of the first and last occurrence of the MAC address on the port and the owner of the MAC address are indicated.
You can integrate additional inventory into the switch ports. For example SFP modules. And then it will be separately labelled in the port list.
There is an option to view a list of "Customers which are dependent on this device".
As a result, a list of customers will be displayed.
To view the QR code, you can use the corresponding section.
It is possible to view the transaction history on this switch.
To return the device to the warehouse - you must, first clear the port switching.
Starting from version 3.18:
The customer switching information on a port displays all of its IP addresses (folded up)
Added a link to display vendor by MAC address in the MAC address/FDB table list by device for unknown MAC addresses.
